We are in the Perigord-Limousin
Parc Naturel, a lovely setting for walks and bird-watching.
Lots of walks on the roads
(no traffic), or through the forests via lots of small villages
with their attendant bars/boulangeries etc.
Birds of prey are protected
here and are everywhere to be seen as are a wide variety
of interesting wildlife.
Take the 5 mile walk around
the Miallet Barrage - grebes, herons on the lake; and polecats
and deer in the woods.
For the more adventurous
the local 'Verte Vie' (Green Way) takes you from St. Pardoux
to Thivier, visiting St. Jean de Cole en-route. A total
of 25 kilometres.
