Situated in the beautiful Perigord National Park, Chateau Marotte is an ideal base for exploring the Perigord Vert region and the Dordogne.
Château de Marotte was built in 1870 and is set amongst 12 acres of its own parkland and includes 2 acres of woods and a 1 acre fishing lake stocked with Carp, Roach and Trout.
The house is just on the edge of the beautiful village of Saint Saud Lacoussiere where you will find a variety of Cafes, Restaurants and the local Boulangerie and Charcuterie along with a General Store and Pharmacist. Saint Saud is also where you will find the ‘Hostellerie St Jaques’ - one of the top Restaurants in South West France!
Leaving a hectic lifestyle in the UK, in search of a more relaxed life in the country, we fell in love with the house here with its Bourgeois architecture and commanding view over the village and surrounding countryside. We bought this house in July 2005 and have lovingly restored it, keeping the country atmosphere, whilst providing modern, comfortable facilities for your weekend breaks and holidays.
We offer two opportunities for luxury accommodation, our relaxing Bleu Chambre (double bedroom and private bathroom) with outstanding views over the village, or our recently fully refurbished Grenier Suite which offers self contained luxury with its own en-suite bathroom, private lounge and breakfast area and sleeps up to 4 people. From this room, the views are breathtaking!
For those wishing to simply relax, you are free to roam our grounds or fish at our beautiful lake (a small charge is levied for fishing and equipment can be hired)
